Original Chemex paper filters significantly reduce the passage of bitter-sweet soluble substances in coffee. This helps to reduce the bitter aromas that suppress the true taste of the coffee and to obtain a more delicious coffee. Of course, filters alone are not enough to get the real taste of coffee.

Things to Consider While Brewing Coffee with Chemex;

* Use ground coffee at the correct setting.

For brewing with Chemex you need medium ground coffee. As a thickness reference, the coffee thickness to be used with Chemex should be one click thicker than filter coffee. However, you can use ground coffee with a filter coffee setting with Chemex with peace of mind

* Make sure to pre-wet the filter paper you use with hot water.

This process will not only remove the dust on the filter paper, prevent the taste and smell of the filter paper from mixing with the coffee, but also provide a better brewing opportunity by ensuring that the paper sticks to the equipment surface.

* Place the Chemex filter correctly

Chemex filter papers come in 4 layers. Open 1 sheet and place it on top of the equipment in the shape of a funnel. In other words, the paper should be opened with 3 sheets on one side and 1 sheet on the other.

* Use the right amount of coffee and the right amount of water.

Cup expressed in Chemex equipment = 150ml capacity. In other words, a 3-cup chemex appliance represents 450ml of coffee. The amount of coffee you need to use for 1 Cup, ie 150ml of water, is 10g.

* Make sure to pre-brew.

Be sure to use some of the water you set aside for brewing coffee for pre-brewing. This amount can be considered as 40ml for 1 person coffee and 80ml for 2 people coffee. Pre-brewing allows the aromas of the coffee to emerge and the air in the coffees disappears, providing a more homogeneous brewing.
